  • Developed J2EE and Java apps using Oracle, Apache Tomcat on XP, Unix / Linux with Eclipse, Ant, Perforce.
  • Integrated new features into CRx's high throughput robotic screening platform.
  • Wrote client-server and internal web apps using Java, JSP, JavaScript, AJAX and Oracle.
  • Implemented a document repository with Oracle Full Text Indexing. Coupled the article repository to a SOAP web-service for journal article ordering. Wrote a second web-service client for article citation retrieval from PubMed's EFetch.
  • Implemented an enterprise Java scheduler package for automated email alerts and updates.
  • Built a J2EE, web-based cell line repository for warehousing cell line data in Oracle and coupled to the Sanger Institute's COSMIC database

MFS Investment Management, Boston, MA, 1999-2007.

Developed applications for MFS's public website on Websphere, J2EE, Struts, Hibernate, Oracle, Apache, CVS.   Site Review.

  • Acted as security lead, responsible for secure code reviews, pre-release source scans, quarterly penetration testing, remediation and threat modeling.
  • Implemented two REST-based single sign-on services with high cryptography.

WebMaster / Publications Assistant
International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), Lyon, France, 4/98-9/99.

Supervised layout and production for IARCPress, the Agency's in-house publishing group. Responsible for cover design, layout, working with printers and coordinating workflows between authors for 12 science texts in 1998-99. Responsible for all marketing, from concept to design to working with service bureaus.

Managed editing and implementation of IARC's website. Designed and connected in-house databases to IARC's internet and intranet. Responsible for maintaining 24/7 webserver with HTTP, Proxy, and FTP.

 

WebMaster / Graphic Designer
Designers & Planners, Inc., Arlington, VA, 11/96-4/98.

Designed and built D&P's original website. Web-related graphic design and publishing. Converted graphics and archived video to QuickTime web movies and HTML.

Managed the layout, editing, and updating of the Navy's Environmental Handbook as well as coordinating chapter authors and verifying the accuracy of legislation. Audited US Naval Bases to help in their environmental planning.
